One of the loveliest elements of my job is being asked to do a wedding for a family I have previously assisted. It’s wonderful to catch up with the family again and the wedding feels like a meet-up of old friends.
Alys and Johan’s wedding was just one of those occasions. Three years previously, Alys’ older sister Bethan was married in the beautiful grounds of the family garden and Alys was chief bridesmaid.
But this time it was Alys’ turn and although the venue was the same, Alys had planned her gorgeous wedding her way and the stunning grounds of the home were yet again transformed.
Alys’ lovely fiancé (now husband of course) Johan is from Sweden and their wedding on 23rd June 2018 coincided (which was of course, no coincidence) with Midsummer’s Eve, a major cause for celebration in Sweden. As a result, the couple were really keen to include many Swedish traditions into their theme and celebration, as well as creating an absolutely stunning, natural backdrop to the day, comprising huge amounts of love, smiles and joy, not to mention fun and laughter for all of their family members and lots of their friends!
