When you first get engaged, there are so many things to consider. Partly because the thought of planning your wedding can be really intense and also because you’ve probably got a million and one ideas running through your head right now.
However, when it comes to planning your big day, where you choose to get married is one of the first elements to consider.
Everything, from the theme, styling and design ideas, the colour scheme and of course choosing the date, stem from booking the venue. So here are a few tips to help you…
Location, location, location
The location is of course key! You’ll want to consider where is best for you. Maybe it’s close to home? Somewhere in the UK? Or you might even want to go abroad to get married…?
Next up is most likely a hugely important factor for a lot of people… the budget. So you’re going to want to make sure that you know what the average costs of venues is, as Bridesmagazine.co.uk shows and know what you’re able and keen to spend. And then make sure you only look at those venues within budget, otherwise you’re going to waste time or end up stretching your budget before you’ve thought about anything else!
The next thing to think about is the style of the venue. Venues such as stately homes provide a fabulous, opulent and beautiful backdrop for your day (such as the stunning Adlingtonhall.com), whilst others offer you more of a blank canvas. So, ensure you carefully consider your options and find the venue that creates the perfect backdrop for your day and enhances rather than detracts from your own perfect wedding day style.
There may also be those added extras that you want in the venue too, such as bedrooms, outdoor areas suitable for marquees, the ability to bring in your own wine or caterers etc., so make a list before you start looking so you will know whether the venue ticks the boxes or not. If not, do you love it enough to compromise?
