Lisa and Adam’s day of pretty much constant laughter!

How many blog posts have I started with the words “…one of the reasons I love my job is…”?

The simple fact of the matter is, I do love my job!  It literally has to be the best job in the world. I get to spend time with lovely couples planning the happiest day of their lives, getting involved in a massive celebration with their friends, families, food and alcohol all around them, not to mention incredible outfits, awesome music and lots and lots of fun!

When I first met Lisa and Adam, I soon realised that this wasn’t just their wedding!  Two very important members of their family were also going to be very much involved… their children Eden and Elsie-Jean.

Infact at our first meeting it was Eden and I discussing the wedding cake, as Eden had a very clear idea of exactly what he wanted! He’d drawn diagrams and had given it lots of thought!  Luckily for me, he wasn’t disappointed with the end result!

I should back-track a little and explain that although Lisa is from Cardiff and Adam from Plymouth, they have actually lived abroad for their entire life together.  Currently their home is Mumbai and so initially our meetings were held via Skype until they popped home last Christmas, so we spent the holiday busily planning at Cardiff Castle and the National Museum of Wales.  We met florists, photographers, cake makers, hair dressers and make-up artists, not to mention Lisa fitting in a spot of wedding dress shopping, ooh and they even managed to squeeze in a family photo shoot with the ever awesome Lee Dare as well!

The day was pretty perfect all in all. The weather was amazing (though luckily a little cooler than Mumbai would have been!), the couple and their children, their families and friends all had a fab time, everyone was super relaxed, there was a lot of dancing, lots of drinking and oodles of partying:

And above all, I have to say, I have never seen a bride and groom laugh so much throughout their day.  And I mean their whole day!  These pictures never fail to make me smile.

And if there is one downside to having the best job in the world? (at the risk of being uber-corny *cringe!!!!*) It’s that every wedding day does of course come to an end…

Lisa, Adam, Eden and Elsie-Jean headed off home to Mumbai probably still laughing as they went… but they’re back next Christmas and I’m already looking forward to catching up for a drink or two with them!
